Your responsibilities

Join our People & Culture team in Hamburg and gain hands-on experience in shaping the employee journey within an international maritime organisation. Work on diverse HR projects in a dynamic environment and help us create a workplace where people thrive.We work with you to customise our modular 12 month traineeship in line with your interests and career goals. Our programme includes different modules, for example:
Module 1 – HR Operations & Administration- Supporting day-to-day HR processes (contracts, onboarding, employee lifecycle)
- Maintaining HR systems and personnel data
- Assisting in payroll preparation and HR compliance topics
Module 2 – Talent Acquisition & Employer Branding- Supporting recruitment processes from job posting to hiring
- Active sourcing and candidate communication
- Contributing to employer branding and university relations initiatives
Module 3 – Learning & Development- Supporting training programs and development initiatives
- Organising workshops, onboarding sessions and internal trainings
- Contributing to performance and talent management processes
Module 4 – People & Culture Projects- Collaborating on strategic HR initiatives (e.g. culture, engagement, diversity)
- Supporting HR analytics and reporting
- Driving own HR projects
Your profile
- You graduated or are about to graduate with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Psychology or a related field.
- You do not only have a strong interest in People & Culture, but share our passion!
- You gained first practical experience in HR (internships, working student roles) – this is only a plus.
- You of course love communicating and have strong interpersonal skills.
- You have a very structured, proactive and hands-on working style.
- You are a fantastic team player who also likes to work independently and as part of an international team.
- You have very good English skills with German skills as a plus.

About us
Founded in Bremen in 1989, the Harren Group focuses on the entire value chain around the vessel. The Group spans five operational divisions – Chartering, Engineering, Logistics, Ship Management and Renewable Energies. Harren is committed to carbon-neutral shipping and is working to convert the entire fleet. The goal is zero-emission shipping across the Group by 2035.
The fleet under management currently consists of 65 units all key vessel types. The family-owned company operates 26 offices in 24 countries around the world, employing 550+ people ashore and more than 2,000 crew members on board its ships.
